As a diocese we are committed to develop the vital ministry of evangelism, which essentially is working with God in His mission to this world. 
To be intentional in this ministry enabling many to actively share their faith.
We therefore offer training throughout the diocese for Certificate of Evangelism  and Evangelism Enabler.

Certificate of Evangelism

​Open to all  with no prior training required, a course of 12 sessions working in small groups which  help you develop your personal evangelism skills and support others in sharing their faith. 
On completion you are awarded the Certificate of Evangelism.

Subjects include:
What is evangelism? -  Biblical basis and how Jesus did it -  The Gospel & conversion - Evangelism in today’s society -  How to share our faith story - The ethics of evangelism - Evangelism and prayer - Enquirer’s and nurture courses - Teamwork - How to encourage others - Organising evangelistic events.

During this course you will be invited to apply to  continue training and  become an Evangelism Enabler.

Evangelism Enabler training 

Enabler (noun) - a person who encourages and  empowers others. 

The role of evangelism enabler:  
To share the Good News of Jesus Christ - work with their church encouraging others to share their faith and reach their community for Christ -  support the work of the church in mission and evangelism -  be team players working with groups in mission.

Do you feel called to this exciting and important ministry of Evangelism Enabler?

 Evangelism Enabler training consists of...

  • Completing the  Certificate of Evangelism course.
  • An experience  of mission at another church or agency
  • A project in your own church.
  • Small group sessions to prepare for and reflect on placements and projects.
  • Support from your church and minister.

On completion you are awarded a certificate as Evangelism Enabler, commissioned by the Bishop of Chelmsford and authorised by your church.
